CHRISTIAN LIFE COACHING CENTER
TO BEGIN AT
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, LONGMONT
First Baptist Church of Longmont will begin a bold venture on March 26, 2008 at 6:30PM with a lecture on UNDERSTANDING THAT WILL EMPOWER YOU (The Four faces of Man in Ezekiel’s Vision) which is to be followed by a seminar, Unleashing Your God-Given Powers (Understanding How God Has Made You) on April 13, 2008; 2:00PM-6:00PM. The lecture on March 26th, which is free to the public and will be held at their facility at 701 Kimbark, is the first event that will be a part of their Christian Life Coaching Center – the brainchild of Rev. Dr. Ray W. Lincoln who is currently serving as their interim pastor. However, the venture is to be the focus of this church whose goal is to provide Christian life coaching for Longmont and the surrounding community far into the future. Their goal, to be a source of love and learning to the people of the area, is reflected in their slogan, “Connecting with God through love and learning”. First Baptist is a small church with a big mission that emerged from a big heart with a desire for meeting human needs.
“Life coaching is a popular concept right now,” says Dr. Lincoln. “But the concept is usually focused from a secular point of view. People are looking for more meaningful and powerful approaches to life and Biblical Psychology provides the answers consistently.” Lincoln is an expert in Temperament Psychology and combines the best of science and the Bible to coach his clients and teach people how God has made each of us with facets of His image. According to Dr. Lincoln: “When one realizes that he or she reflects the image of God because they are created specifically by God, with certain facets of His image as He selected them for that individual, it is an empowering thought that lifts one’s self esteem to a level God encourages. Faith is increased at the same time. Every one of us is specially designed by God who does not give weaknesses. He is not in that business.” So where do our weaknesses come from? We all know that we have them. The answer to this along with how to get rid of our weaknesses will be addressed in the first lecture.
Dr. Lincoln is well-equipped to direct in this endeavor. He has over 40 years of experience as a pastor; holds a BDiv, MDiv, LTh and PhD. He has a master’s level of study in Psychology and has studied in the fields of Personology and Neuroscience extensively to use the best of science and the Bible to study God’s special revelation in His creation of man.
The Christian Life Coaching Center will offer Seminars on various topics including: Making Parenting Easy (Understanding Your Child) [May 10, 2008; 9:00AM – 1:00PM], Making a Good Marriage Better (Understanding Your Mate)[June 29, 2008; 2:00PM-6:00PM], Staying Young (More Years, Better Quality) [Date TBD], Rising Out of Depression[Date TBD}, etc. Free lectures will provide introduction and follow-up to the topics and offer added opportunity for interactive discussions between the audience and the instructor/life coach. The center will also offer individual Christian life coaching. Training will be provided for those gifted as Christian life coaches. As a ministry of the First Baptist Church, seminar fees and life coaching fees will be kept low in order to encourage wide participation from the community. A fund-raiser is planned in the near future to provide “scholarships” to assist on a sliding scale basis. For more information contact First Baptist Church of Longmont at 303-776-1128.
